Came to work today and discovered an egg on the terasse… (I don’t think it’s easter related) FFS!! The same thing happened 2yrs ago and, sure, when they hatched we all thought HOW ADORABLE and whatever, cute little ducks, KAWAII cheesuschrist. And you know what happened on a sunny morning a couple of days later? Dead ducklings downstairs.

Wth am I supposed to do now??

rant

You know, no matter how old you are, whatever happens, wherever you are, you can learn something new.

In his late 20s, a friend of mine, travelled to Japan to enroll in a school for design, he wanted to become a fashion designer. After two years he realized that the actual designing wasn’t fun for him, but he loved the economical and marketing aspects of fashion. 5 years later, he’s still happily working somewhere in Kyoto.

One of my cousins was sent to work at sea when he was 18 (something like army). His punk-ass couldn’t behave for even one day, so, as a disciplinary measurement, he was sent to peel piles of potatoes

(daily). When his time on the ship came to an end he didn’t become any more well behaved, but, man, he was able to peel potatoes in seconds!

And a last example is from my own schooldays. We had obligatory classes that taught us touch typing. Do you think I learned how to do that? Nope, but my peripheral vision got so great that I became rather good at playing basketball. And to this day I’m usually able to contain my own speed on a crowded street thanks to that.

There’s a saying in Russia: live a century long, learn a century long.

Big things, small things, everything can become an experience, a lesson. Sometimes I forget that and need a reminder that life’s lessons teach you only the things you take from them, so open your eyes and mind to possibilities.

Long story short: I’ll give Paint tool sai a chance.

So I downloaded the paint tool sai thing just to get an idea of what that program is and…. O_O what is this witchcraft ?? The LINES, man, THE LINES! SO SMOOTH!!! D: and it didn’t crash even once D’: I…I…… T-T

I’m cryyiiinggg! If I want to switch to it I’ll basically have to relearn everything TT-TT I mean, I’ve worked with photoshop for years (before using it for drawing) and knew all the needed shortkeys and its “system” in and out; the only thing I had to learn when I started drawing in it was the brushes… Sai is COMPLETELY new to this old dog.

DILEMMA!

well hello hi there

Alright, bot-free existence as of now. And hey, it only took me, like, 5h? Cheesus.

There’s also something that I noticed….. sooo, apparently I’ve been acting like my usual idiotic self infront of over 100 people…. and that makes me overwhelmed and a bit uneasy… mostly bc I’ve never realized it ‘¬¬… hahhaa…sorry. Another thing that I observed is that some of people’s interests have “moved on” and I wanted to say:

please don’t feel bad unfollowing me. Ever.

so yeah, basically…. I don’t know what to say. Love you..? Well, I don’t know most of you guys enough for that, but… you all have interesting blogs, so… Let’s chat sometime..? ^^’ … ahhmmm… yeah. Let’s go with that one.

Let’s chat sometime! ^0^/

Edit to my previous rant: that thing about dropping a drawing if I can’t finish it in one day… I don’t know what I was thinking. That would just put more pressure on me ‘¬¬ … Forget that. But I’ll adjust the time I’ll be spending on a daily basis drawing and priority of it.

That said, let me thank you, sweet souls, for your kindness. @archangelwithatardis , @lucky-loonie , @yescabbageguystuff . I’m used to confronting such issues alone, and having your support is (I don’t know how to express it well, forgive me) unexpectedly incredibly reassuring! I can’t thank you guys enough!

talking to myself.

Something horrifying happened today at work, and I‘ve got no one else to blame than me. In the recent weeks I’ve been spreading myself too thin, a bad habit of mine. Between my work, my mother’s company/clients, my sister’s drama of the day, insomnia’s return, tight drawing schedule that I made for myself and wanted to keep no matter what, I became negligent.

I won’t neglect the people around me, and I don’t want to neglect my drawing, but it’s becoming impossible for me to keep up with everything, especially when I don’t get enough sleep.

I need a schedule/deadline for drawings/projects that I can orient myself on, but the current one seems impossible for me to keep. So, I’m giving myself more lee-way.

– I will NOT stress myself over a missed daily scribble, and will take the time of commute to nap when I need to. I made the rule of dailies for myself because initially I needed that kick; not anymore.
– From now on, the b-day drawings will be posted not on the day, but with a flexibility of a week (I love the characters and really want to draw them all at least once)
– Merlin au will go up once a month, on the 24th. (I’ll adjust that if/when I feel like I can do more)
– Independent doodles or requests are not included in this schedule, but if I can’t finish something within a day I’ll drop it.

I’m trying to stay sane right now, and making adjustments in my schedule calms me down. I never know my own limits until something goes wrong, but I learn. And next time, hopefully, the one to suffer from my mistakes won’t be someone else.

What? Forgot my scribblebook again?? Reminds me of the time I kept forgetting and losing my keys… I think my subconciousness is trying to tell me something. …. …buuuut since I’m extremely stubborn by nature I’m still at the stage where I’m like “don’t hear nothing, don’t care.”….

I think a meltdown’ll be coming soon.

Rant

Whenever I make “hering in furcoat” (a Russian dish) my Swiss clients are impressed by the salad-cake, the Russians on the other hand are making fun of its form (it’s towering way too much when I make it). Today I made 2 and they’ve been calling it “an ode to titties” and I’m laughing way too much at this!!

I love my clients.

This is what it looks like:

Didn’t catch the other one before it was gone.

What drawing software do you use?

Photoshop CS5, dear ^^.

I only use it because I already had it for years (for other purposes). It’s an okay choice to get a feel for digital drawing, but… It’s old and unstable…. kinda like me lol

Also, I can’t find the Corel Painter installation disc I received, like, 10yrs ago…. I’d love to work with that program, it’s more “painty”. There you have a palette where you can mix colours yourself and all! It’d be more “native” to me, but, well, you work with what you’ve got, right? ^^

Sorry for the mini rant ^^’
